CHANA PALAK SAAG RECIPE

Palak Chole Saag / Chana Palak Saag Recipe

Chana Palak Saag Recipe is tasty and different in taste. Chickpeas and spinach is a great combination, a healthy and protein rich dish. Chickpeas cooked with spicy spinach gravy. You can can be served with roti or rice or paratha.

Ingredients:

  • Chick Pea – 1/2 cup
  • Chopped Tomato – 3-4 nos.
  • Finely Chopped Palak/Spinach – 4 cup
  • Chopped Green Chili – 2 nos.
  • Ginger – 1/2 tbsp
  • Chopped Onion – 1 cup
  • Chopped Garlic – 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tbsp
  • Red Chili Powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander Powder – 1 tbsp
  • Garam Masala – 1 tbsp
  • Salt as per taste –
  • Hing – a pinch
  • Cumin Seed – 1 tbsp
  • Oil – 3-4 tbsp
  • Dry Red Chili – 2-3 nos.
  • Kaju – 4-5 nos.

Instructions:

  • Heat the ghee in a pan on medium flame, add kaju.
  • Fry it till turns little golden brown, keep aside.
  • Wash and soak the chick pea for 5-6 hour.
  • Cook the chick pea in a pressure cooker with salt, cinnamon stick, clove and tea bags.
  • Cook it till the chick pea gets soft.
  • In a grinder, add onion, garlic and ginger, make a fine paste and keep aside.
  • Heat the oil in a pan on medium flame, add hing, green chili and cumin seed, fry for 3 min.
  • Add onion paste, turmeric powder, little salt and coriander powder.
  • Fry it till turns little golden brown.
  • Add the tomatoes and palak, mix well.
  • Cook it till the palak gets soft.
  • Add boiled chick pea and mix well, fry for 5-6 min.
  • Add garam masala and mix well.
  • Garnish with fried kaju.
  • Serve hot curry with paratha/naan/rice.
