Sindhi Biryani Recipe / Sindhi Biryani Masala Recipe

Sindhi biryani is a different in taste, more spicy and tasty. Biryani is made with basmati rice, indian spices, paneer, capsicum, beans, pea and carrot, garnish with fried onion slices. You can serve with chutney, mirchi ka salan, raita and salad includes onion, cucumber, and lemon wedges. If you want you can add vegetable such as mushroom, broccoli, red, green and yellow capsicums, potatoes and corn kernels.

Ingredients:

  • Basmati Rice – 2 cup
  • Coriander Seed – 1 tbsp
  • Fennel Seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Oil for frying –
  • Chopped Capsicum – 1/4 cup
  • Chopped Carrot – 1/4 cup
  • Pea – 1/4 cup
  • Paneer (cut in a long pieces ) – 1/4 cup
  • Chopped Beans – 1/4 cup
  • Finely Chopped Onion – 1/4 cup
  • Garlic-Ginger Paste – 2 tbsp
  • Red Chili Powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander Powder – 1 tsbp
  • Cumin Seed – 1 tbsp
  • Garam Masala – 1 tbsp
  • Salt as per taste –
  • Cardamom – 3-4 nos.
  • Cinnaman(Dal chini) – 3 pieces
  • Curd (Dahi) – 1/2 cup
  • Bay Leaf (tej patta) – 3-4 nos.
  • Chopped Green Chili – 1-2 nos.
  • Coriander Leaves (finely chopped) – 2-3 tbsp
  • Thin Onion Slices – 1/2 cup
  • Desi Ghee ( clarified butter) – 3-4 tbsp

Instructions:

  • Wash rice and in a large pan, tie the fennel seeds and coriander seeds, make a pouch and add in the boiling water along with 1/2 tbsp salt, 3-4 cups of water and boil it.
  • When it’s boiling, add rice. when cooked, keep aside.
  • Heat the oil in a pan on medium flame, add capsicum, beans, pea, carrot and paneer.
  • Fry it properly and keep aside.
  • Heat the oil in a pan on medium flame, add onion slice (for garnish).
  • Fry it till turns light golden brown, keep aside.
  • Heat the ghee in a pan on low flame, add bay leaves, cumin seed, cinnamon, ginger-garlic paste, green chili, onions and fry it till turns little golden brown.
  • Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala, mix well..
  • Add yogurt and cook curry for 4-5 min.
  • Add fried vegetable, 1/4 cup water, salt and mix well.
  • Cook for 3-4 min and keep aside.
  • In a big saucepan, spread a layer of rice first, then add curry and another layer of rice.
  • Cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes on low flame.
  • Garnish with fried onion.
  • Serve hot sindhi biryani with raita.
