Marwadi Gatta Kadhi Recipe is made by using with blend of gram flour dumplings in the spicy mixture of yogurt and spices. It is the authentic Rajasthani recipe. You can serve with roti, rice and paratha. It is also called Rajasthani Gatta Kadhi.

For Gatta:—– –

  • Besan Flour – 1 cup
  • Ajwain – 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4
  • Red Chili Powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt as per taste –
  • Baking Soda – a pinch –
  • Lemon Juice – 2 tbsp

For Kadhi:— –

  • Curd (Dahi) – 1 cup
  • Besan Flour – 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • A pinch of asafetida –
  • Mustard Seed – 1 tbsp
  • Curry Leaves – 10-11
  • Red Chili Powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander Powder – 1 tbsp
  • Garam Masala – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander Leaves (finely chopped for garnish) – – 2-3 tbsp


  • For making gatta:— In a bowl, add besan, ajwain, baking soda, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and lemon juice, mix well.
  • Add little water and make dough as we are preparing for paratha/roti.
  • Divide into six equal parts and roll into cylindrical shape and keep aside.
  • Heat 2 cups of water in a pan on medium flame, when water starts boiling, add above made dough and cook for 10-15 min.
  • Drain excess water and allow to cool a bit then cut in to 1 inch pieces.
  • Heat the oil in a pan on medium flame, add pieces and fry it till little brown, keep aside.
  • For Kadhi:–
  • In a bowl, add curd, besan and turmeric powder, mix well and make sure there are not any lumps.
  • Heat the oil in a pan on medium flame, add hing, mustard seed and curry leaves, fry for 1-2 min.
  • Add curd mixture and water, boil it and stir in between.
  • Add  red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala and salt, mix well.
  • Add fried gatta and mix properly, cook on low flame till curry become thick.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot kadhi with rice.
